Wachovia Offers 24-Hour Mortgage Pre-Approvals

Additionally, Wachovia is offering a new permission-based email series to help educate homeowners on the benefits of refinancing. Customers who register for the curriculum and close their loan with First Union Mortgage Direct will be eligible for a $99 credit at closing. Topics covered include: where and when you should refinance, lowering your monthly payment and how much equity do you have in your home.

“The recent drop in interest rates and the continued strength of the housing market has made it an excellent time for many to refinance an existing mortgage,” said Joan Sommerer, manager of Mortgage Direct for FUMC. “Many of our customers are wondering if this option is the right choice for them and our hope is that this new email series will help them make that decision.”

Consumers can register for the free program by logging on to firstunion.com/refinance, or by clicking on the “Considering Refinancing?” banners located throughout the firstunion.com site. Participants do not have to be First Union or Wachovia customers to use the program.
